Colloque “Emotions and a child”
THE WORLD CONGRESS OF EXPERTS
“Emotions and a child”
(8-10 May 2019, Lviv, Ukraine)
“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
( John Lennon)
In this modern, oversaturated with information multicultural world, a child needs value orientation and priorities. Routine life of adults often restrains usual primary needs and a child’s abilities. We spin in a wheel of everyday’s worries, make instant decisions, get tired, feel emotionally and energetically exhausted. However, we need emotions to live.
The German neurologist Gerald Hüther in his recent research explains that every child comes into this world with love – that’s her greatest talent. Frankness, joy, attentiveness, creativity, ability to admire, empathize, sympathize are those emotions that accumulate energy, cause dynamics in self development. But over time, this love is betrayed, joy of love is cynically leveled, trust is used, compassion is hidden. It’s a teenager age, which, according to Ukrainian science Serhiy Ivaniuk – is an emotionally most terrible period in human life.
THE WORLD LITERATURE AND MUSIC CONGRESS OF EXPERTS “Emotions and a child” (2019) is organized in order to attract the society to those fractious moments in the life of a person that destroy her in a childhood, or make her happy. Conservatism, liberalism – as consequences. Radicalism and Tolerance. Infantilism and dynamics. Love and malice.
The key point of postmodern art for children and adolescents, that has to compete today with lots of various entertaining and informational tools, and still be popular among modern readers, is the importance of initially prescribed emotions. Only then can one or another topic attract attention and affect a child. Blurred borders, age boundaries. Multiaddress art. Illustration as a part of multitext for children. Cinema and anime. Music in the artistic narrative for children and youth. Intertext and interdisciplinarity. Values, priorities, objectives. Emotions.
